Training

Conflict analysis - we can provide cutting- edge training and prepare company managers for upcoming challenges.

Cultural background (please inquire about available regions)

This training programme helps management to understand its project area and focuses, in addition to providing substantial background information, on the local cultural/social dynamics and specificities prevailing in the project area. We consider this a necessary and valuable step for improved evaluation of risks and opportunities and to guarantee efficient project management.

(Carried out with the support of external specialists, who have in-depth knowledge of the project area)

Business and International Humanitarian Law/Human Rights in conflict areas

The training programme gives management and employees a basic knowledge of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights law. The participants gain an overview of the main legal obligations, legal risks and liabilities that companies operating in volatile zones face and assists in mitigating these risks. The training course can be adapted to specific geographical locations upon request.

The four pillars security management approach

The training programme familiarizes management with the comprehensive security risk management approach, which uses prevention, acceptance, protection and deterrence strategies to address prevailing and potential security risks. It facilitates the integration of security management into daily operations and outlines its links with legal and reputational risks. While focusing on prevention, acceptability and protection approaches to reduce security risks, the course will also outline the major risks, as well as best practices when relying on armed security services in conflict affected areas.

Upon request we can organise an interactive briefing session with a management team, to familiarize them with the underlining issues and challenges existing in their project area.

Crisis Management and Communication Training

Despite the best of intentions and preparation, companies may face hugely damaging, unexpected crisis events, accompanied by negative reaction from key business partners and an aggressive media spotlight. It's critical that these events are handled professionally.

Safestainable offers clients a stepped approach to crisis management training with the objective of strengthening the company's resilience to crises.

Depending on the client's capability and expertise in this area, our approach is as follows:

  • Present an initial overview of crisis management
  • An assessments of the company's crisis preparedness
  • Development of crisis plans and procedures
  • Tailored workshops and 'as live' exercises designed to pressure test the crisis team and the company's crisis management plans and processes

Depending on the client's needs, all of the above the elements are stand-alone and can be delivered either as a series, or individually, by our experienced crisis management consultants Adam Roscoe and Ron Popper.
